This company was originally formed in 1945, by Howard R. Blankenbeker, as a sole proprietorship. He worked mostly out of his house on Allison Lane in Jeffersonville, for his private practice. Times being what they were in those days, he also spent a lot of time employed in public works projects with the Jeffersonville Flood Control District, the Indiana State Highway Department, the Charlestown Powder Plant and various other public agencies. In the early sixties, Rollyn H. Blankenbeker, his son, joined the practice and in 1965 the firm was re-formed as H.R. Blankenbeker & Son Registered Land Surveyors. In 1974, Howard died and Rollyn became sole proprietor. In 1985 Rollyn's son, David R. Blankenbeker, joined the company and in 1990 the present corporation was formed. Rollyn died in December of 1994, leaving David as the sole owner and president.

Blankenbeker and Son is primarily a land surveying company. Its emphasis is on residential land development, primarily subdivision design and layout. The company concentrates its practices in Jeffersonville, Clark & Floyd counties, Clarksville, Sellersburg & Charlestown. In addition, we are licensed to practice anywhere within the states of Indiana and Kentucky. Other services include planning, boundary surveying, surveyor location reports, topographies and mapping, and elevations.
